‘Gasigwa’ was the first picture David drew of this particular Gorilla. He says “there was so much detail it took an extremely long time to complete”. And in its execution he learnt many techniques which he uses today. David enjoys drawing Gorillas and you can see his confidence with ‘Gasigwa’.
I just love this drawing, it has a beautiful setting. And I subsequently watched the Documentary Titus Gorilla King, which makes this image even more interesting.
