‘On the Lookout’ was David’s first Meerkat release. David chose the traditional pose we all recognise of a Meerkat. The natural attention to detail we have come to expect shows the beautiful fur of this creature. And David says he was struck by how Meerkat fur differs from other mammals: it’s thicker, and more spiky and dark underneath and yet also light and wispy on top. He captures it brilliantly here. Everyone likes this drawing!
